The Land Management and Biosecurity Technical Officer, reporting to the Manager Natural Environment & Sustainability, will be part of a team of technical officers who provide operational services to prevent, prepare, survey, respond to and recover from invasive plant and animals that threaten the economy, the environment or social amenity.
This position is responsible for implementing appropriate treatments for the control of invasive plants and animals and fire management activities on land under the direct control of Council (including roads and drains) within the Cassowary Coast region.
About You
You will have tertiary qualifications in Conservation and Land Management or Horticulture, or working toward such qualifications and/or demonstrated experience and equivalent knowledge gained through working with medium to large organisations in the fields of Natural Resource Management, Biosecurity and Land Management.
You will be someone who acts proactively, exercises initiative and focuses on performance and meeting team goals. Ideally you are flexible to change and are able to build and maintain productive working relationships.
