Your day to day
As a Gardener / Landscaper within our landscaping team, you will play an integral role n keeping the Resort’s landscape looking lush and vibrant. The island features a sweeping expanse of beachfront and 14 hectares of tropical gardens and exotic flora and fauna, as well as being home to a variety of birds and animals on the island including white cockatoos, painted lorikeets, kookaburras, kingfishers, and rock wallabies. Our botanical garden features some 33,000 magnificent new plants and 327 new species adding more colour and perfume to all parts of this 16-hectare landscaping masterpiece – all of which you will passionately and professionally maintain to the highest standard for all to enjoy.
What we need from you
Our ideal candidate will have a history and background in Horticulture and Garden Maintenance, with a relevant qualification in Horticulture or Landscaping. You will also need:
• Queensland safety induction White Card
• Forklift and Skidsteer Licence
• You’ll be familiar with Microsoft Office, Email, and any other reporting tools like HotSoS, Hardcat
• On top of building equipment and hand tools, you’ll have a working knowledge of basic irrigation and plant knowledge
• Must hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence
• Have the ability to relocate and live at Hayman Island, Queensland by 17 June 2024
• Be comfortable with an hourly rate of $35.65 per hour under the Hayman Island Enterprise Agreement 2023
