About the role
Applications are sought for the part-time fixed-term position of Languages Assistant (French) in 2024.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Language Assistant is a member of the Padua College Languages Department and works with the language teachers and College leaders in the preparation and presentation of the College’s language programs. The Language Assistant works with the Language Teachers to provide language advice and enrich students' language learning through the provision of a contemporary linguistic and cultural experience for students, leading to student engagement, successful learning and positive student outcomes.
The Languages Assistant is under the direction of the Vice Principal – Learning and Teaching and reports directly to the Languages Learning Leader.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The responsibilities of the Languages Assistant include but are not limited to:
1. Supporting language students with authentic language experience.
2. Reporting to teachers on students’ progress with language tutorials.
3. Supporting the Language Department in the development of Language Resources.
4. Performing other duties and implementing decisions as requested by the Principal or the College Improvement Team.
