The Opportunity
At Shine, we champion better justice for our clients. And as Law Clerk, on a 12-month contract - with possibility to extend - in our Class Actions team based in Darwin, that starts with you. You’ll work closely with our legal team to make a meaningful, long-lasting impact for our clients. Although this position is available full-time from the office, we are open to considering our successful candidate to work four (4) days per week.

With empathy, adaptability and initiative, you will be a true champion of our clients by:
- Be involved in some of Australia's largest Class Actions proceedings and settlements.
- Interviewing our clients in-person on the outcome of the class action they're involved in.
- Supporting our Legal team with optimising the use of internal systems to process information.
- Preparing legal documentation with a high degree of detail, and managing group member communications, running a file load with a keen level of commercial and fiscal awareness.
- Cultivating strong relationships with our clients, Shine employees, Counsel and other external stakeholders.
- Working as one team using market-leading systems to effectively obtain maximum compensation for our deserving clients.
- Previous paralegal or equivalent experience is desirable.
- A strong understanding of, and ability to interpret the relevant legislation and legal documentation.
- An innate ability to question, challenge the status quo and always stay ahead of the pack.
- You’ll be a great communicator both verbally and in writing.
- You’ll be naturally empathetic and have a resolute passion for helping people who are experiencing distressing situations.
- A commitment to truly connect with those around you and work together to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
