About Legal Aid Queensland
As a lawyer, you will prepare cases, advocate for clients and provide advice about Employment, Anti-Discrimination and Human Rights law and other areas of civil practice as required. You will have the chance to expand on your experience by undertaking interesting and varied casework and law reform.
There are three contracts available with end dates of 30/06/2024, 22/11/2024 and 30/06/2025 with the possibility of extension.
What you will do
The successful candidate will play an integral role in the following:
- Representing clients in Employment, Anti-Discrimination and Human Rights law matters
- Providing legal advice, minor assistance and information to clients around the state
- Guiding team members and other Legal Aid Queensland staff with enquiries relating to civil law
About you: The successful candidate will have:
- Experience or capability to efficiently and effectively develop knowledge in specifically in the areas of Employment and Anti-Discrimination law
- Capacity and willingness to represent clients at conciliation, tribunals, commissions and courts
- The ability to present in a clear, concise and articulate manner in both written and oral formats
