About The Role
Thiess is seeking a dynamic professional to take the lead in the Asset Estimating division based out of our Head Office in South Bank, Brisbane. Thiess is searching for a talented individual to join our Australia Operations as Lead, Asset Estimating. As the Lead, Asset Estimating, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our projects through your expertise and innovation.
In this role, your leadership will be pivotal in creating a high-performing team at Thiess. You will motivate and mentor team of Asset Estimators, cultivating an environment where collaboration and expertise thrive, ensuring consistent high-quality output. Your strategic direction will provide a clear vision, aligning the team's efforts with Thiess' broader objective.
Additionally, you will:
Develop and Review: Create plant rates and maintenance cost estimates for tenders, adjust plant rates for existing projects, and analyse project costs for monthly reviews and benchmarking.
Asset Lifecycle Management: Conduct asset life cycle reviews, considering operating costs, major component cycles, ownership costs, and overhaul requirements.
Strategic Planning: Provide input into asset selection for new projects based on fleet availability, productivity, reliability, and cost.
Infrastructure Design: Specify workshop infrastructure design, including tooling and support equipment, for effective maintenance of mobile fleet on existing and new projects.
Asset Management Support: Assist Operations and asset teams in Asset Management administration processes, including asset setup, movements, and capitalisation.
- Leadership: You will motivate and mentor your team of Asset Estimators by creating an environment where collaboration and expertise can flourish.
About You
You will foster strong relationships across the Asset Estimating team and all relevant stakeholders. Clear, concise, and influential communication is your forte, ensuring seamless collaboration and project success. You are someone who proactively seeks growth and performance input while actively identifying opportunities for improvement. You value integrity, accountability, innovation, and delivery.
Additionally, you have:
Trade Qualification or University Degree
Minimum of 1-3 years operational experience working in a similar role/s
Proficient in MS Office suite
Macro/VBA experience is beneficial
