We're looking for a Lead Structural Designer/Drafter to join our Resources and Materials Engineering group.
Due to a steady pipeline of exciting and innovative projects, GHD's Resource Engineering has a great opportunity for a Lead Structural Designer/Drafter to assist in growing our drafting team. In this role you will be responsible for leading a small team in the production of detailed structural design drawings on various Australian based resources projects.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Managing time allocated to given tasks and distributing workloads to a small team
• Prepare 3D engineering models and 2D design drawings
• Drawing checking and co-ordination
• Collaborating with senior engineers on various technical tasks.
• Design of steel and concrete structures supporting projects within Process and NPI as well as Future Energy and Renewables projects including wind, solar, hydrogen and power transmission.

What you will bring to the team:

• A diploma in civil/structural drafting/engineering and experience within the WA mining industry
• Knowledge of structural drafting and design principles used in producing final documentation for major mining clients such as BHP and RTIO
• 8 years minimum experience in a similar role
• Experience in Bentley MicroStation is necessary.
• Experience in a 3D modelling software is advantageous
• Proficient communication skills and a reliable team player
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a strong focus on the production of quality outputs.
• Knowledge of common data environments such as 12D Synergy, ProjectWise and BIM360 is advantageous.
