An Opportunity to Create Environments with Impact:
You will be the design lead in our team of 3 designers and be the Lead Designer working front end with clients, educators and our director in delivering innovative outcomes that transformative experiences.
We are passionate about what we do and are looking for someone with a great design sensibility and passion like we do to shape people's most formative years.
We create natural environments within early learning environments and so are looking for someone who is passionate about environmental design and designing for experience and use as we are.
As we also make and build all of our environment, we need someone who also has sensibility and understanding of the building and constructing these bespoke designs.
This role offers you an opportunity to showcase your talent on a global stage, and join our thought leading approach to playground design. Collaborating with a dynamic team, you will spearhead the creation of bespoke environments that push boundaries and set new standards for play.
We believe in doing good work and having a balanced work life. As such our team primarily works a 4-day work week from 8 am to 5 pm. We are also happy to consider those needing 5 days a week and shorter hours, eg school hours if needed too.
About you:
For us it is more about your approach and passion for design than what qualifications you have. If you are a registered architect or landscape architect this would be a bonus, but for us it is more about your designing thinking and approach then particular qualifications.
Ideally, we area looking for someone is just as passionate about play base learning, early development and nature based environmental design as we are.
Ideally you will have
- Relevant experience in similar design area - or transferable design skills; ie landscape, architecture, environmental, playscape, childcare and education, building or even industrial or interior design
- Design related qualifications; landscape, environmental, or architecture will be highly regarded
- Understanding of design and approval processes (DA)
- Enjoy working front end with clients and stakeholders from briefing to concept and DA
- Have a passion for education, early learning and creating places that enable young humans to thrive
- Passion for permaculture would be highly valued
- Enjoy seeing designs come to life
- Enjoy working in fast paced environments and working multiple projects at a time
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator is highly regarded
