Role Summary:
The Lead Electrical and Reliability Engineer is a newly created opportunity in our Thermal Asset Optimisation team based at our Perth CBD office.
This role will engage and work with the site teams within Synergy to develop strategies and provide recommendations to identify and manage risk, to continuously improve the reliability and performance of our current and future generation assets, optimise operations, and execute projects.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Facilitate Thermal Generations asset management post Synergy decarbonisation strategy release – Optimising our portfolio to meet our decarbonisation targets and strategy.
- Lead Electrical and power generation risk identification and management of our existing and new power generation assets.
- Lead defect elimination investigations, root cause analysis, management of change – technical and operational readiness processes.
- Lead and operationalise the Generator Performance Standards for our existing and new power generation assets.
- Evolve and mature our Asset Performance Framework and recommend cost effective improvements to improve our reliability, efficiency, and flexibility.
- Prepare scope of works for contractors, lead business case preparation and manage project progress.
- Relevant tertiary engineering qualification in relevant field
- Eligible for Chartered Membership of Engineers Australia.
- WA Drivers Licence Class “C” or “C-A”.
- 10+ years of Engineering or operational experience in open cycle gas turbine, combined cycle gas turbine or coal fired thermal power generation plant and systems.
- Electrical Protection, Arc flash and power system design and problem solving fundamentals
- Process Safety and risk assessment skills
