Job description

Req ID: 60876
Department: ESG - Disclosure & Reporting
Division: Communications & Public Affairs
Location: Melbourne
About the role
At ANZ our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive. We’re making this happen by improving our customers’ financial wellbeing so they can achieve incredible things – be it buying their home, building a business or saving for things big or small.
The shift to a focus on corporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance is fundamental and permanent. To help meet the ESG expectations of our investors, customers, and external stakeholders, and support our strategy and purpose, we have a purpose-built function. ESG Disclosure & Reporting is one of the pillars of this function, alongside Governance, Analytics & Advisory, and Social Impact & Community.
The Lead ESG Disclosures & Reporting role will deliver the Group’s ESG disclosures and reporting to communicate our performance and effective management of our material ESG risks and opportunities. The work undertaken in this role takes place against the background of increasingly high levels of social, government, investor, and customer scrutiny of the bank’s ESG policies.
Responsibilities include:
Managing the Group's ESG and Modern Slavery reporting (with a focus on Social and Governance pillars), including developing the workplan, coordinating inputs from across key stakeholder groups and ensuring timely delivery
Ensuring our reporting is relevant to stakeholder expectations and meets key external reporting standards, frameworks and practices.
Managing external assurance of annual ESG and Modern Slavery reporting
Monitoring performance against the bank’s public ESG targets
Engagement with and management of ESG indices and ratings, including the S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment
Supporting ESG market disclosures and associated communications
Advisory responsibilities to senior management on the above matters
People management of at least one direct report
This role will work closely with our Lead Climate Discloser and Reporting role.
Role location: Melbourne
Role type: Permanent, full time
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role you will bring the following skills and experience:
Record of achievement in a like or similar role, with experience managing ESG reporting and submissions for an ASX-listed organisation.
Excellent analytical, writing and communications skills, including the ability to understand and simplify complex matters involving different areas.
Strong relationship and networking skills to engage internal and external stakeholders in Group-wide ESG performance reporting and communication.
Expert understanding of relevant ESG reporting standards and frameworks e.g., GRI Standards, IFRS Sustainability Standards
Proactive thinker, able to anticipate and identify emerging ESG trends which may become more important for the bank.
So, why join us?
There’s something special about being part of ANZ. From the moment you join us, you’re part of a team working towards a common goal: improving the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.
But it’s not just our customers who’ll feel your impact. You’ll feel it too. Because at ANZ, you’ll have the resources and community you need to take the next big step in your career, towards even bigger things in the future.
We offer a range of benefits tailored to the countries in which we operate including Health and Wellbeing programs and flexible working arrangements.
You’ll also enjoy working in a diverse and inclusive workplace where the different backgrounds, perspectives and life experiences of our people are celebrated. We encourage you to talk to us about any adjustments you may require to our recruitment process or the role itself. If you are a candidate with a disability, let us know how we can provide you with additional support.
