About the roleIn this role, you will provide specialist advice in the development, implementation and promotion of fraud and corruption prevention strategies and be responsible for the internal review for infringements and complaints.
Work type: Permanent, part-time (3 days a week)Classification: Full Time salary $161,000 base plus superannuation
Key responsibilities include:
Act as a public interest disclosure co-ordinator under the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2012.
Carry out internal investigations into allegations of corruption/improper conduct.
Develop, deliver, and promote internal integrity awareness training programs for and provide advice as required about integrity related matters, including mandatory notifications.
Provide high level advice on complex and sensitive integrity-related governance issues across the organisation.
Liaise with IBAC, the Victorian Ombudsman and the Local Government Inspectorate and any other integrity or complaints bodies as required.
Carry out internal reviews of complaints escalated under the City’s Complaints Policy.
Have oversight of the internal review of infringement appeals and the quality assurance framework for management of infringement appeals.
Act as the liaison officer for requests for information from the Victorian Ombudsman.
Develop and Review policies and procedures relevant to the role.
About youTo be successful in this role you will have extensive and diverse experience in investigations and fraud and corruption control.
Essential Experience:
Relevant tertiary qualification in law, business management or similar qualification.
Extensive experience in a similar position within a local, state or federal government agency.
Expert knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and policies and a thorough understanding of the local government environment.
Proven experience in investigation of complaints
Strong policy, report writing and written communication skills.
Proven ability to manage matters confidentially and discreetly in a complex and often challenging work environment.
Proven ability to effectively diffuse difficult situations, negotiate with and influence both internal and external stakeholders through highly developed interpersonal and representation skills.
Ability to utilise technology and keep appropriate records.
Strong decision-making skills, particularly consistency and impartiality, and the ability to be able to articulate reasons for decisions clearly.
The political acumen, resilience, and common sense to perform the duties in an effective manner.
