Senior Review Officer to provide a critical role within Corrections and Justice Services.About the Business UnitJustice Health is part of the Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group in the Department of Justice and Community Safety and supports the Minister for Corrections. CJS also comprises Corrections Victoria; Policy, Strategy and Service Design; Group Services and Coordination; and Justice Services (which includes Community Correctional Services and other justice programs).The Adult Health Services Unit achieves this through working collaboratively with men and women in custody, health service providers, Corrections Victoria staff and public health providers.
About the RoleThe role of the
Senior Review Officer is to review health care delivery, policies and procedures in relation to deaths in custody and major incidents in the youth justice and corrections systems, provide evidence-based clinical advice to inform service design and system improvements and maintain sound systems, policies and procedures that support reviews.
Senior Review Officers work collaboratively with key service partners and the Justice Assurance and Review Office to support prompt response to investigations and promote positive outcomes for individual service users; accountability and continuous improvement.
Some of your duties will include:- Undertake reviews of health care delivery, policies and procedures in relation to deaths in custody and major incidents in the youth justice and corrections systems.
- Provide evidence-based advice to inform service design and system improvements.
- Maintain sound review frameworks, systems and processes that foster a culture of accountability, whilst encouraging innovation and problem solving.

About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:- Demonstrated experience in a highly sensitive and complex health environment
- Demonstrated experience in a quality focused role coupled with a thorough understanding of Risk Management principles.
Qualifications- A tertiary qualification in a health or related field.
- Current AHPRA registration is desirable.
