In this pivotal position, you will provide crucial support to operational activities by ensuring strict adherence to market and regulatory compliance across Synergy’s large renewable and Distributed Energy Resources (DER) assets, including the Bright Energy Investment portfolio.The objective of the role is to drive high level compliance culture, accuracy and consistency of financial modelling across the operational asset that would heavily influence our asset management plan. You will be the single point of contact with Strategic Analysis and Financial Planning team and working closely with the market modelling principal.Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Monitor, guide, maintain standards and coach compliance activities with Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) market rules, technical standards, and statutory regulations.
- Own and maintain Variable Cost Model and coordinate the periodic VOM update at the asset level as required.
- Validate the portfolio VOM model by working collaboratively with the operation team to confirm it aligns with the asset mission statement
- Identify and address compliance risks, ensuring system security and reliability and coach teams on compliance best practises, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Prepare report and escalate market and statutory non-compliance items by exception for management and regulatory body.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as:
- Commerce (Economics, Finance, Accounting)
- Law or Legal Studies
- Engineering with Energy specialisation
- Experience leading cross-functional engagements with business stakeholders.
- Detailed knowledge of energy or utility business models and value chains impacting financial outcomes and working or developing understanding on statutory obligations for energy infrastructures.
- Preferred working knowledge of PLEXOS model.
