Established in 2001, Guidera O'Connor is a privately owned and respected Design and Construct contractor and have a successful track record delivering Water and Wastewater treatment projects to the Australian Water Industry. Our clients include SA Water, Water Corporation, Sydney Water and SEQ Water.
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Leading Hand with a background in Water and Wastewater Infrastructure to work on various sites across Adelaide and Regional South Australia.
As the Leading Hand you would be responsible for key construction aspects of a projects, in particular the planning of the work to ensure that it is completed safely, on time and meets environmental, community, quality and cost requirements. They also prepare and implement Safe Work Method Statements for the work to be undertaken and can conduct daily prestart meetings.
More specifically you will:
- Maintain a safe workplace for all site personnel and ensure that environmental impacts are minimised
- Ensure that work is completed to a high quality in accordance with project specification requirements
- Ensure that work is completed in a timely manner
- Ensure that all project documentation is completed to a high standard
- Maintain close working relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors Procure equipment at competitive prices
- Effectively manage team resources
About you:
As our ideal candidate, you will:
- Have experience as a Leading Hand within the Construction industry, leading Trades teams with enthusiasm and a strong safety focus
- Be able to understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
- Have a Cert 3 or higher Mechanical trades certificate
- Have solid experience working on major infrastructure projects, Water Industry experience is preferred
- Be familiar with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards relating to the construction industry
- Enjoy building infrastructure and solving problems
