The Opportunity
CITIC Pacific Mining is currently looking for a Leading Hand to join our HME team on a permanent 2/1 continuous shift roster (days & nights), FIFO ex Perth.
Reporting to the Supervisor – Fabrication, this role is responsible for the supervision of HME boilermakers and trade assistance.
In this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Providing instruction, assistance and direction to all boilermakers, trade assistance and trainees in the performance of their duties.
- Demonstrating the use of all HME Mining maintenance systems and documentation.
- Be responsible for workshop tooling used by tradesman, advising the workshop supervisor of any workshop tooling that is unsafe.
- Providing assistance to the supervisor or planner on job estimations and work orders.
- Liaising with operations supervisors and other crew/departmental Leading Hands.
- Assisting in the formulation and review of job hazard analysis (JHAs) as per CPM’s procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining consumables in the fabrication workshop.
- Demonstrating the initiative and aptitude to undertake company training and obtain the highest personal achievement practical.
- Adhere to the Quality Management Plan
- Adhere to the Safety Management Plan
- Maintaining legible, coherent, and accurate service records and documentation relating to parts, work in progress, back-log, and maintenance records.
- Be familiar with and demonstrate personal and subordinate staff compliance with CPM’s safety, quality, environmental and fitness for work policies and procedures.
- Participating in safety and communication meetings (eg daily pre-shift and weekly toolbox mtgs)
Successful applicant will have:
- Western Australian HR class motor vehicle licence or equivalent
- Engineering tradesperson qualification – Fabrication (Boilermaker/Welder)
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of maintenance requirements for mobile equipment trays, blades, buckets, and general fabrication.
- Cert IV in Leadership and management (desirable)
- Current Working at Heights Certificate, Confined Space
- High Risk Licence - FL, EWP & DG
- SAP knowledge (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and motivational skills
Personally, you will have great communication skills, be a flexible team player with the ability to work autonomously.
