About the Opportunity
As part of the Horticulture Maintenance Team, the Horticulture Leading Hand assists in the development and maintenance of the city’s Parklands, Gardens, Biodiversity sites, Squares, Streetscapes and associated facilities.
As the Primary Supervisor supporting the team leader, you will ensure that you and your team are able to deliver quality horticultural work that continues to allow everyone to have a wonderful experience as they visit the City of Adelaide.
You will be responsible for planning and scheduling tasks for your work group to ensure the team is productive and efficient.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in the coordination and supervision of staff.
- The ability to work effectively in a changing environment and have a flexible attitude to meeting work demands.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret Amenity/Horticultural construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience in managing/providing leadership to Horticultural work teams.
- A good understanding of resource and material requirements and allocations.
- The ability to develop strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate on behalf of Council.

Please be advised this is a full time, permanent opportunity with a starting salary at the Foreman Grade 4 Classification commencing at $82,362 + 11% superannuation. Please note that there will be a 3% Enterprise Agreement salary increase from the first full pay period commencing July 2024.
