Learning & Practice Development Coordinator (LPDC)
Centre for Mental Health Learning (CMHL)
You will be part of a supportive, passionate, and experienced team!
The LPDC role works with CMHL to engage with Victorian mental health workforces, and generate and deliver programs related to workforce Learning and development. The role is a full- or part-time fixed-term position, ending 30/06/25.
The LPDC role is critical in responding to the public mental health workforces’ capability development needs. Some examples of the role’s responsibilities include:

  • Stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Sector scoping/data gathering
  • Systems change/Practice Development facilitation
  • Evaluation
  • Online and face-to-face training and events
  • Working on specific portfolios or projects as needed, including Victorian mental health priority areas such as Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 implementation and early career development.
CMHL is currently operating under a ‘hybrid’ working model; team members work from home some days, and in-office on others. There is considerable flexibility in this arrangement.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to
  • Draw on and apply your extensive experience working in mental health services
  • Draw on and apply your knowledge and experience from your Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, and/or demonstrated industry experience in training and workforce development (design and delivery)
  • Demonstrate your experience working with large and diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Work effectively and efficiently in the CMHL team
To be eligible you will need
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (or Postgraduate as required in the EBA) in a mental health profession i.e., Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy (and be registered under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) in the relevant area, or for Social Workers, be eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers)
  • And/or mental health lived experience worker from a consumer, or family/carer perspective
  • You will be a passionate and committed individual who values collective contribution and works from a values-based and strengths approach
