About the role - We are seeking a Learning Enhancement teacher to work collaboratively with the Leadership team, teaching staff, ST:IEs, school officers and students to improve student learning across the school. There is scope for the role to evolve as areas of support are identified.
As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:
- Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
- Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
- Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
- Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
- Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
- Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
- Report and work directly with PLL/ST:IEs to develop and implement the process and resources for targeted support
- Have a deep understanding of the curriculum and Brisbane Catholic Education priorities, the school’s EIA and work with the school’s Annual Plan to achieve targets.
- Use, analyse and review data from BI Tool together with the PLL, Classroom teachers and ST:IE to identify students with targeted needs and thereby aim to use this information to improve student learning
- Plan lessons, creating rich learning tasks for students, acknowledging their unique learning style and individual learning paths
- Model best practice to other staff members when co-teaching and where necessary
- Administer testing and assessment tasks on students as needed – such as Pat-M / R
- Provide feedback on student learning to classroom teacher to share with parents
- Provide advice and feedback to teachers and school officers on support materials and assessment to consolidate effective practice
- Provide direction towards appropriate professional learning opportunities for teachers to build teacher capacity
- Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum

- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
Yes, for primary and Religious Education teachers. Regarding a pathway to become Catholic, some employees opt to undertake the (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach after you start with us.
