ROLE
Applications are invited from suitably experienced persons for the part-time, ongoing position (0.64FTE) and fixed-term position (0.64FTE) of Learning Support Officer to commence as soon as possible. Days and hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant. This is a Category B Level 2 position under the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited Schools and Secretariat Agreement 2022
The role of the Learning Support Officer, as outlined in the role description that can be obtained by emailing the principal (email below), is to support teachers in catering for the learning needs of the students. The Learning Support Officer will report directly to the classroom teacher and will work under the guidance of the Learning Adjustment Leader.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate:
- A commitment to the ethos, values and mission of Catholic education.
- A commitment to Child Safety.
- An ability to take initiative and manage competing priorities.
- A willingness to keep observational notes on students’ learning progress and attention to tasks.
- Proven capacity to work both within a team and independently
- An ability and willingness to support the physical, social, educational and emotional needs of the students
- A willingness to undertake professional learning opportunities relevant to the role and the needs of the students
REQUIREMENTS
- A valid Employee Working With Children Check
- Certificate in Education Support is desireable or willing to undertake this course to be considered for this role.
