• $104,596 to $123,964 per annum (Level B)

Producing high-quality publications, supervising HDR students, and potentially attracting competitive grant funding, the applicant will work in collaboration with the theoretical and computational chemistry laboratory, which focuses on the development and applications of quantum chemical methods to a broad range of areas, including materials, environmental, physical, organic, or biological chemistry. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate early to mid-career researcher to work on the development and application of quantum chemistry and density functional theory methods within a world-class research environment with access to state-of-the-art local and national supercomputing facilities. Within this role, you will develop and teach high-quality programs of study in physical and computational chemistry and take a key role in the continued development of the chemistry program. A substantial part of the School's teaching is online, within a supportive pedagogic framework for students, therefore this role provides an excellent opportunity for an early career researcher to gain experience in delivering high-quality teaching at one of Australia's leading providers of online and distance education.About youTo be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:· PhD or equivalent in computational chemistry (or a closely related field)· Experience in running quantum chemical and/or DFT simulations· Demonstrated ability to undertake and publish high-quality and impactful research· Demonstrated ability to write high-impact manuscripts· Ability to address complex problems creatively, and to work effectively both independently and in collaboration with other researchers· Demonstrated teaching experience in physical chemistry, computational chemistry (or closely related areas)· Excellent written and verbal communication skills· Ability to supervise and train studentsTo succeed in this position, you will possess a strong background in computational/theoretical chemistry and be a highly motivated researcher who has the ability to work both independently and co-operatively with a proven ability to conduct high-quality research and publish high-impact manuscripts as well as high-quality teaching and unit development.About the FacultyThe Faculty of Science, Agriculture, Business and Law (SABL) is an innovative collaboration of scientists, researchers, and academics created to deliver outstanding education and practical learning.
