Full time, continuing position for a Lecturer in Neuroscience (Neuroengineering)Make a significant contribution to student education at the School of Medical SciencesBase Salary $118,390 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThe School of Medical Sciences is recognised as one of the leading centres for medical science education in the world. Our team of educators and researchers lead internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, including biomaterials across a range of therapeutic areas.The Lecturer (Teaching and Research) works under broad direction, translating accountabilities into tasks to deliver against goals. They are a subject matter expert, provide sound advice and recommendations, resolve complex matters and escalated issues related to their responsibilities.Your key responsibilities will be to:conducting original neuroscience/neueroengineerign research independently or as part of a team, focusing on publication, conference presentations, and securing research fundingundertaking independent teaching and apply research or scholarly activity to enhance educational practices and outcomesengaging in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the university’s expectations and standards for educationdeveloping innovative teaching approaches and evaluate teaching and learning effectiveness for continuous improvementcoordinating activities of academic staff and provide training and mentorship to less experienced lecturersunderstanding and contributing to furthering the university and faculty/school strategic agenda.About youPhD in a relevant area, in particular in neuroengineering or biomedical engineeringA proven ability, commitment and passion for engaging in scholarly activities to inform innovative pedagogical practicedeep and broad experience in teaching and learning in a tertiary environment, as evidenced by participation in team teaching within an established program and experience in teaching in a variety of settingsdemonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders.To keep our community safe, please be aware of our which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
