As the successful candidate, you will produce quality research and deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching across the College, as required.You will actively report on new and current research related to the research program through the generation of independent high-quality contributions such as quality publications, external grant acquisition and research student supervision. In addition, the Lecturer in Social Economics will undertake research in Social Economics and work with research teams to contribute to the design, implementation, and analysis of data.Some of the key responsibilities of the position are:
- Contributing to the organisation, planning, delivery, and evaluation of teaching primarily within the suite of undergraduate and/or postgraduate topics/courses through topic coordination, delivery of lectures, tutorials, laboratories, placements or other contemporary teaching strategies to develop skills for evaluation and evidence of impact.
- Independently contributing to the planning and execution of research by offering new and innovative ideas, reviewing relevant literature and other sources of information, actively participating in the production of data, contributing to the writing of grant applications, and attending College seminars, meetings, and conferences.
- Delivering inspiring and innovative teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience and support students with academic and/or other challenges impeding their academic progress.
- Developing and maintaining strategic relationships and networks with a range of stakeholders including industry and professional associations and organisations.
- Actively contribute to the integration and management of aspects of the academic and administrative life of the College.
- Demonstrated evidence of a strong research track record (for career stage) in an area aligned with research strengths of the College, including evidence of quality publications and attraction of external competitive grants.
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary issues in socio-economic policy, individual and community care, and its impact on society.
- Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodology.
- Demonstrated understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research and scholarship.
- Demonstrated evidence of, or capacity to, undertake high quality teaching in a tertiary environment, including involvement in topic coordination and curriculum design.
