Provide clinical supervision of students enrolled in Occupational Therapy pragmas at Charles Darwin University (CDU)

About the Position
As a Lecturer Occupational Therapy (Clinical Education), you will focus on the clinical supervision of students enrolled in Occupational Therapy programs at CDU. You will have oversight of Clinical Education and coordination of placement supervisors and student clinical progress for the program. In addition, you will provide external Occupational Therapy supervision to students enrolled in clinical placements where students' on-site supervision is not an occupational therapist. This includes tracking placement hours and documentation related to clinical competencies along with other duties, to ensure successful Clinical Education experience and the meeting of external accreditation requirements. 

With a specific focus on mental health and wellbeing placement opportunities, you will be required to develop innovative methods of engaging, developing, and improving student knowledge and experience in the field of mental health.

About You
To be successful, you will require:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration as an occupational therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Practice experience in providing clinical Occupational therapy services, including supervision relevant to the units within the Occupational Therapy program.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, including an understanding of the importance of contributing to staff meetings, discipline, and university committees.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide constructive feedback and support to students in a compassionate and effective manner.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage online systems, keep accurate records, and oversee the logistical aspects of field placements.
  • Capacity to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and community stakeholders and effectively manage any conflicts or challenges that may arise during the clinical placement.
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in student supervision and guidance.
  • Knowledge of current trends and innovations in the field of Occupational Therapy and an understanding of how to incorporate these into clinical placement practices and curriculum.

Remuneration 
Appointment to this role will be at Teaching Focused Academic Level B. The base salary will be in the range of $110,500 to $130,649 per annum (pro rata). The total remuneration package will be in the range of $129,285 to $152,859 per annum (pro rata), including 17% superannuation.
