Due to our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a detail orientated professional to join our firm as a Legal Assistant in our stunning Surfers Paradise office.
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to our legal staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our office. This role requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Administrative Support –
- Draft & send initial and final letters on conveyancing transactions
- Open new files in LEAP Software, prepare and maintain files
- Prepare documents for signing/certifying and draft client cost agreements
- Prepare correspondence and create hyperlinks for electronic document disclosure
- Undertake legal research and photocopying/scanning of documents
- Updating precedents
- Order searches through Infotrack
- Print and compile LEAP reports
- Maintaining Safe Custody records including scanning & binding
- Archive client files and close files upon completion of transactions
- Maintain, update, and run EMR reviews on all solicitor files as necessary
Office Support –
- Answer phone calls and manage all mail-related tasks
- Warmly greet clients, offer refreshments, and make them comfortable in the boardroom
- Maintain office calendar and CPD register for solicitors
- Office support duties including stationary orders, office supplies, maintain boardrooms & kitchen
About you
You are a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with a passion for providing exceptional administrative support. You thrive in a fast-paced legal environment and possess the following attributes:
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Conveyancing Assistant
- Proficiency in LEAP Software would be advantageous
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Professional demeanor and excellent customer service
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
