We're looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Sydney Projects team supporting leading Partner Nicholas Carney and team of senior lawyers on a full-time basis.
Nick has been at the forefront of innovative structures to facilitate private capital into social, affordable and disability housing, including advising on the establishment of NSW Government Social and Affordable Housing Fund, as well as investment structures for Lighthouse Infrastructure and QIC.
Key responsibilities:
Your day-to-day will involve, however, not be limited to:
- Managing Partners' internal and external appointments with appropriate meeting lead times including travel and diary management.
- Assisting with meeting preparation.
- Managing billing processes for your direct team including strategic clients with specific and complex financial requirements.
- Coaching and mentoring team Administrative Assistants and working collaboratively with a legal support team including the Practice Management Assistant for a strategic client.
- Supporting communications to clients and matter management.
- Coordinating and managing a broad variety of responsibilities and deliverables.
Skills & experience:
This role will suit an experienced Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary who has a passion for working collaboratively within a team, a proactive approach to delivering your work and strong attention to detail. You will also have:
- A minimum of 5 years' Legal Assistant experience (essential).
- Ability to anticipate Partner requirements to reduce administrative time.
- Strong matter management and billing experience (Aderant Expert) is essential.
- The ability to work autonomously and show initiative.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to juggle multiple commitments in fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
