About the role.
The Corporate Counsel role will provide in-house legal expertise and advice across a range of commercial and legislative areas. Reporting into the Manager, Legal, Risk and Governance, you will contribute to the strategic and operational objectives.
- Provide general advice to support Operations, Finance, IT and Corporate and Community functions.
- Provide strategic legal advice across contract reviews.
- Implement proactive strategies to improve controls within the Risk Management Framework.
- Advise the business on contract review updates and status reporting regarding legal liabilities.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Governance and Compliance across the business including Legal Risk framework.
- Manage outsourcing of legal services as required.
This business important role will require that the individual can meet the following requirements;
- Hold a Law degree from a recognised institution.
- Be entitles to practice as a solicitor in Queensland.
- Have strong and effective communication skills both verbal and written.
- Work with accuracy in a fast paced environment.
- Experienced contractual negotiations skills.
