Our client is a leading construction company based in Melbourne CBD. They are looking for a Legal Counsel to join their team on 12 month parental leave cover contract.

The role
You will have the opportunity to join a well established legal function within this company where you will assist internal stakeholders with a broad range of construction matters, including:
- Drafting and negotiating construction contracts and commercial agreements such as confidentiality agreements, settlement deeds, supply agreements, terms and conditions, joint venture documents and subcontractor agreements.
- Assisting with the management of contract, security of payment and other legal disputes arising out of projects. This includes briefing, and working with, external counsel on matters.
- Advising business units such as HR, marketing and other teams on legal risk, and WHS matters.
- Providing business units with advice on compliance, contract interpretation and risk management.
About you
You will be a 8yr+ year PAE construction lawyer with experience working in a well-regarded team (in either front- and/or back-end construction). Strong communication, attention to detail and confidence building internal relationships are essential.
