About the role
As the Leisure & Activities Officer, you will drive the engagement and participation of residents into a range of social, recreational and cultural activities, as well as mental health and wellbeing programs that empower our resident’s choices and independence. Build meaningful relationships and make a difference in the lives of others!!
This is a Permanent Part-Time Position - Bendigo Location !!
Your main duties will include:
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of leisure and recreational activities for residents, taking into consideration their interests, abilities, and preferences
- Organize group outings, social events, and entertainment programs to promote social interaction and engagement
- Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure activities are tailored to meet the individual needs of residents
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages resident participation and enjoyment
About you
- Certificate IV Leisure & Lifestyle or other relevant qualification
- Experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities and programmes for older people with cognitive impairment and other disabilities
- Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes to meet legislative, funding and quality improvement requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Creativity and the ability to think outside the box when planning activities
