The role:
As Activity Officer (Individual Support, Recreation & Camps), you will provide person-centered supports within a wellness and reablement framework that builds independence and supports participants’ choices and lifestyle preferences. You will support participants who are in receipt of My Aged Care, NDIS or other funding. You will roster supports, develops support plans, links support staff with participants, plans and implements recreation/camp programs, and directs and monitors service delivery activity towards achieving individual participant goals.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound computer literacy, including knowledge of client databases.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Good understanding of Aged Care and NDIA requirements and funding.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a small group of participants in a practical environment.
- An understanding of the principles of the Disability Act 2006, the NDIS Act 2013, the
- Victorian State Disability Plan, Victorian Human Rights, Dignity of Risk and Duty of Care.
- An understanding of the principles of the Commonwealth Home Support Program and The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission
- At least 1 years’ demonstrated experience supervising support staff in a Disability Services (or similar).
- Demonstrated capacity to contribute to building a team, focussed on high quality service
- Experience in developing a range of quality recreational activities.
- 2+ years’ experience in delivering disability services programs.
