Your Opportunity
As a Copyright and Licencing Services librarian based at a Greater Brisbane Region location to be negotiated, you will:
- Contribute to the enhancement of vocational and further education and training by providing services that support the TAFE Queensland Strategic Plan and the TAFE Queensland Library Network Strategic Plan, with a focus on the acquisition and operational management of licenced educational e-resources, subscriptions and professional memberships.
This position reports to the Senior Librarian (Copyright & Licencing Services).
This is a Permanent Part-time (0.4) opportunity.
The successful applicant can negotiate to work from any TAFE Queensland Greater Brisbane Region Library campus. Partial work from home is also available.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the transformation of cultural change through promoting and modelling the TAFE Queensland values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customers, Showing Initiative and Taking Responsibility.
- Assist the Senior Librarian (Copyright & Licencing Services) to administer TAFE Queensland’s educational e-resource licences, subscriptions and memberships using a central register and systems.
- Follow procedures and work instructions to comply with TAFE Queensland policies and guidelines, including intellectual property, purchasing and procurement and align the delivery of services with the TAFE Queensland Product Governance Model, and TAFE Queensland Library Network Business Plan.
- Participate in the review of Copyright & Licencing Services procedures, work instructions and plans, to support a culture of continuous improvement.
- Respond to enquiries from Copyright & Licencing Services stakeholders as outlined in procedures and work instructions, and under the guidance of the Senior Librarian (Copyright & Licencing Services) to ensure that resources and services meet customer expectations and business needs.
- Contribute to the maintenance of TAFE Queensland’s content management system Resourcebank which is used for the storage, retrieval, and the administration of licence agreements, copyright permissions and licenced educational resources.
- Use effective time management and organisational skills to prioritise workloads, meet timelines and financial constraints to ensure quality outcomes.
- When required, deliver customer services to assist clients with, but not limited to: general enquiries, access and use of e-resources, loans including equipment loans, locating resources, reference and assignment help queries, wireless and PC access, printing, copying and scanning.
- Contribute to the continued success of the TAFE Queensland Library Network through participation in team activities, performance management processes and professional development and training programs.
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
- Demonstrated ability or ability to acquire the knowledge and skills required to support the operational management of educational e-resource licences, subscriptions, professional memberships and renewals.
- Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and problem solve within guidelines and procedures and prioritise and plan workflow to achieve outcomes within identified timeframes.
- Demonstrated skills in relevant library based information technology areas such as online systems, e-resource platforms and web technologies.
- Displays well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to consult with a wide range of clientele and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and collaborate proactively within a team, exhibiting flexibility, organisation, and prioritisation of both personal and team tasks and projects.
Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements
- Possession of appropriate tertiary qualifications providing eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association
Highly Desirable Requirements
- Skills in relevant library information technology.
