Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking a casual Library Officer to join the Blackwater Library team.
This position will support the team by providing efficient and effective public library services in alignment with the Library’s Strategy and Action Plan. We are looking for someone who is excited to provide our Blackwater community excellence in customer service, library operations and community development and events. This role will also be responsible for preparing, planning for and running the weekly Blackwater story time.

In this busy role, you will support the organisation by:
- Provide a high-level customer service to members and visitors to the library.
- Maintain the library database and assist with collection development and management, including circulating resources, stock rotations and Inter-library loans within the library.
- Undertake tasks such as internal mail sorting, writing library documents, customer receipting and banking, monthly statistics and monitoring of facilities.
- Assist in the marketing of library events, programs and services.
- Support the community to build capacity and partner with community to support local initiatives.
- Assist with the delivery of library events, programs and services.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:
- Competency in a wide range of Microsoft programs, with demonstrated technology skills and ability to confidently operate a range of apps, software and technology equipment.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to confidently and actively engage with customers, including those with a diverse background.
- Previous experience in customer service, library and/or related disciplines.
- Above and beyond approach to teamwork, customer service and community support.
- Minimum of Queensland C class provisional driver’s licence.
- Queensland Working with Children Blue Card, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
