Lifestyle Assistants (Disability Support Workers)
Brodie is a happy 13-year-old boy who loves going for walks, bike riding, music, singing, swimming, animals, and socialising. He also happens to have a disability.
Brodie wants to increase his independence with assistance from others. He is looking for Lifestyle Assistants to ensure he has a team that enables Brodie can live his best life.
Your employer will be Registered Charity (Not for Profit) and we are not your traditional NDIS service provider who focus on quality service delivery and NOT profit. We offer a bespoke family directed supports for Brodie. We have the appropriate insurances, policies, procedures, and training to support Brodie.
You will be assured of work likely in a repetitive roster with just one client Brodie and there will be no running in between clients for a few hours here and there. With focusing on one client and the training we will provide means you can make a difference to someone’s life and therefore the job rewards you with a high level of job satisfaction. Please note this position is based in a family home and will be working with family members.

Responsibilities of the role
Collaborating with Brodie and his family and team to work towards achieving the vision to meet Brodie’s goals,
Reporting to Team Leader and his family on progress made towards achieving goals,
Providing support around all aspects of Brodie’s daily life including personal care, transporting to and from appointments and meal preparation and in a way that upholds the vision and values of Brodie, his family and support team.

High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude
Common interests to Brodie especially swimming, music and going for walks.
Desired level of knowledge and skills
Outstanding coordination, organisation and communication (both oral and written) skills to interact positively with a variety of people.
Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety compliance.

Desired qualifications
Qualifications and experience in disability may be useful (Certificate lll or lV in Individual Support)
Therapy and Nursing Students
A current National Police Clearance,
NDIS screening check,
Manual Handling certificate,
First Aid and CPR certificate (or willing to obtain one prior to commencement)
Medication administration
Midazolam training
Hours of work
The casual shift hours available on weekdays from 7am to 9am & 3pm - 6pm and 11am - 3pm on Saturday and Sundays with possibility of extra shifts available on public holidays and school holidays.
Remuneration
The position is a 3 month fixed term casual contract with the likely possibility of extension. You will be paid above the SCHADS award including superannuation depending on your qualifications and experience. With extension to the contract you will be paid above the award wages to provide in home and community access supports so that Brodie can live his best life.
