Assist Community Services provides a variety of support services to individuals within the Townsville Community. Our vision is to be the ‘First Choice’ provider in Townsville by delivering services that empower and promote choice and control.
The Role
We are seeking workers with experience, or willingness to gain experience, supporting individuals within our Supported Independent Living program with challenging behaviours, restrictive practice & positive behaviour support plans.
This is a hands-on role, suitable for individuals who can perform under pressure and in challenging environments.
Key responsibilities/duties will be but not limited to:
- Providing complex care and support to our participants, including those with challenging behaviours of concern.
- Assisting with tasks of daily life, personal care, medication, and domestic duties.
- Implementing PBSP strategies when needed.
- Effective management of challenging situations.
- Report effectively on shift outcomes and complete required documentation.
- Transport assistance to appointments and social and community activities.
- Assistance with skill development to help individuals achieve their desired outcomes.
Supported Independent Living positions – Having the flexibility to work within a 24/7 rostered shift and be available for sleepovers (Active and Inactive).
Requirements for our roles:
- You have a current driver’s license and own a vehicle with current registration and comprehensive insurance.
- A smart phone with a data plan
- First Aid/CPR Certificate*
- Blue Card*
- Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Screening Clearance*
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module* (visit https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au to access this free module)
*The ability to obtain on/before commencement.
