Our client specializes in the maintenance and repairs of metro and mine site based 4WD, Ligh & Heavy Road Trucks, Truck Trailers, Explosive Trucks, Mobile Plant and Fixed Plant. The company has recently been awarded several ongoing maintenance contracts with several Tier 1 mining companies and are currently seeking experienced Light Vehicle Mechanics to work a role that is a mix of Mine Site FIFO and Perth Metro area (South of the River).
Site & Metro: Rosters & Working Hours
The available role is predominately a FIFO 8&6 roster based out of Perth working 12 hour days on Pilbara based Iron Ore mine sites. There maybe a requirement to work in the Perth Metro area based in Jandakot sporadically working 10 hour days. Our client has advised the following;
- FIFO: 8&6 Roster – 12 Hour Days – 85% to 100% of Role
- Perth Metro: Very rarely – 10 Hour Days – 0% to 15% of Role
The Job
This is a standard Light Vehicle Mechanic role where you will be working on mine spec vehicles which include;
- Toyota LandCruiser
- Toyota Hilux
- Isuzu Light Truck – 8 Ton or less
- Fuso Light Trucks – 8 Ton or Less
The main responsibilities of the role will include;
- Workshop Based – Mine & Metro
- Field Service – Mine site only
- Daily Pre Starts – Checking engine oils & 360 walk around
- Scheduled Minor Service
- Scheduled Major Service
- Diagnostic
- Ordering spare parts & consumables
- Minor & Major Repair
- Vehicle Accessory Fit Out
- Completing comprehensive documentation & job sheets
The Candidate
We are seeking an experienced Australian Trade Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic. Candidates that have experience working on a FIFO basis on Mine Sites on diesel powered 4WD’s or Light Trucks are encouraged to apply.
Essential Criteria Includes;
- Has completed an Australian Trade Qualification of Light Vehicle Mechanic
- Posses a WA Manual C-Class Drivers License
- At least 1 year experience working as a Light Vehicle Mechanic
- Can Pass Thorough Mine Site Medical & Regular Drug & Alcohol Screens
- Is Physically Fit
- Has excellent English skills – Written & Verbal
Remuneration
Depending on your experience the following pay rates will be offered where you will be working on a casual basis through Staff-Net;
- Mine Site: $50.00 to $60.00 Per Hour – Flat
- Metro: $40.00 to $45.00 Per Hour - Flat
- + Super on all Hours
