Qualifications
- Degree qualification in engineering (software engineering is preferred), Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Eligible to hold technical developer engineering authority.
- Qualification in Systems Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent professional industry body recognition.
- Design and Development of User and Kernel space software.
- Debugging and maintaining issues raised from testing.
- Ability to maintain and administer Linux Kernel upgrades across various distributions.
- Ensure reliability and robustness of deployed code under Linux, utilising operating system features available.
- Producing and maintaining documentation for developed software.
- Create processes for compiling and deploying software in a scalable and repeatable manner.
- Ensure security issues are discovered and managed properly.
- Keep up to date on published vulnerabilities and able to decide on their impact for deployment.
- Ensure consistent communication and flow of information across channels within the project team.
- Experience in software engineering.
- Experience in Linux systems programming: C and C++ / bash and python scripting / GNU/Linux operating system internals – Debian, RedHat and CentOS.
- Experience with: Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, DevOps, Agile Scrum development practices.
- Experience in the systems engineering lifecycle.
- Experience in working with Engineering Management Systems.
- Experience in network programming.
- Experience in systems engineering in the Defence environment.
- Experience in software testing.
- Experience in system and network administration.
- Must be an Australian Citizen to apply.
- Must possess an active AGSVA Security Clearance prior to commencement of work.
