About the Role

We are seeking a Logistics Coordinatorwho will be responsible for scheduling and coordination of local and international freight movements. 

Reporting to the Supply Chain Supervisor, you will be responsible for the effective creation, management and development of the commercial relationships and any compliance risks inherent. 

The key accountabilities of the position are: 

• Schedule and coordinate local and international freight movements. 
• Prepare shipping documentation (packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates, etc.) for international export cargoes Assist in the customs clearance process for import shipments. 
• Maintain shipping register and files in accordance with standard operating procedure for the working location. 
• Work directly with business units to ensure all orders are shipped in an expeditious and cost-effective manner and are shipped in accordance with contractual terms and conditions. 
• Coordinate the review of products in order to determine the correct transportation requirements, including packaging, labeling and documentation to ensure that shipments are consistent with contractual requirements, external regulations, and internal procedures. 
• Develop, nurture, and maintain high quality relationships with internal and external customers, freight forwarders, and other service providers. 
• Generate purchase requisitions for freight related invoices. 
• Liaise with internal and external departments as and when required to ensure all questions and queries are resolved and liaise with manager on any concern.

The successful applicant will also meet the following criteria: 

• 5+ years experience within a logistics environment 
• Must have experience with freight forwarding. 
• Experience with customs brokerage desired. 
• Good organisation skills and ability to communicate effectively. 
• Self motivated and proactive. 
• Able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. 
• High attention to detail. 
• Proficient in the procurement modules in SAP. 
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
