The Market Grocer is a growth-focussed Australian-owned food business. We supply an extensive range of grocery, health lines and fruit & nut products to Independents, Majors, and other retailers throughout Australia. Our business is 18 years old, we have experienced strong year-on-year growth, and are adding a new position to our senior management team who can focus strongly on our key customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation, and supply chain processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline logistics operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Ensure stock is maintained at optimal levels to support customers and achieve business cost containment goals.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, transportation providers, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
- Oversee the maintenance and optimization of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software to ensure all stock movements and locations are fully tracked and reported on
- Liaise with significant customers and internal stakeholders to ensure their logistics needs are fully considered.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance to senior management.
- Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively to achieve operational goals.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to logistics and supply chain disruptions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or a related area.
- Proven track record of successfully managing logistics operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and tools (e.g., WMS, TMS).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
