The Logistics Officer reports to the Morgan Dockyard Supervisor and assists in the coordination and execution of Ferry Programs (ferry maintenance and ferry refurbishment) ensuring compliance with Departmental and AMSA quality standards.Responsibilities include supporting logistical requirements of the Ferry Refurbishment Program works (e.g. blast/paint inspection, hot works etc.), procurement of goods and services, organising key activities (e.g. ferry movements, ferry closures, ferry cable programs, ferry infrastructure inspections), maintaining safety documentation and assisting ferry operations (e.g. training ferry operators).This role is based at the Morgan Dockyard, with travel necessary to the 11 ferry crossings from Lyrup to Narrung.About You
We are seeking a candidate with maritime experience, particularly in marine surveying and vessel maintenance or refurbishment. The ideal candidate should possess strong operational skills and technical knowledge necessary for supporting large field-based work programs. Additionally, the ability to effectively liaise and collaborate with various stakeholders is essential.If this sounds like you then we would encourage you to apply.Requirements
Appointment to this role may be at the OPS3 or OPS4 classification level depending on relevant skills, experience and qualifications.A current Drivers licence and willingness to drive is essential.The successful candidate must also be qualified or willing to be trained in and obtain the following:
- Confined Space Entry and White Card
- Heavy Rigid (HR) Truck License
- High Risk License (Forklift, Rigging and Crane)
- Recreational Boat License and Coxswain 2 Ticket
Prior to employment with the Department the successful candidate will be required to provide:
- A National Police Check (NPC) which must be renewed every three years.
- A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
OPS3 - $66,590 to $70,968 per annum
