Job Description

Aquila Mine are seeking a Longwall Electrician to join our operation based in Middlemount on a permanent basis! You will work with our industry-leading remotely operated autonomous longwall technology, where our Aquila Mine won the Outstanding Mine Performance category at the 2023 Australian Mining Prospect Awards.

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent: Longwall, the primary purpose of the role is to complete all longwall maintenance tasks safely and efficiently and to assist Aquila Mine in achieving its goal of zero harm, maximising production output and minimising production costs. The Underground Electrician is responsible for ensuring all activities undertaken are performed in line with safety and statutory requirements.  You will be required to complete longwall maintenance duties to ensure the team safely meets production targets in accordance with the annual mine plan.

Aquila Mine features two longwall systems (walk on, walk off) ensuring production continuity. Both longwalls are fully remote capable from the site-based Remote Operations Centre (ROC) on the surface of the mine. The Longwall Move department is a vital part of this strategy to maintain longwall continuity.

Qualifications

• You will have Longwall Electrician experience within an underground coal mine
• Electrical Trade qualified and licensed
• Electrical Trade degree/qualification and relevant tickets (Electrical License, EEHA, HV Switching)
• Experience delivering best practice electrical maintenance
• Demonstrated experience contributing to a team of professionals to deliver against set targets
