Job description
As a Barclays Loss Strategy Analyst, you will be directly responsible for conducting analysis of process data and decision outcomes to identify anomalies and inconsistencies. This function will elevate oversight of the internal fraud process acting as an early warning for potential issues and validation of a healthy fraud program free of compromise. You will be responsible for ensuring the proper controls are in place to minimize fraud and optimize genuine customer purchase approvals.

What will you be doing?
• You will be responsible for identifying data focused fraud trends and development of broad strategies to address the trend
• Developing early warning indictor, anomaly and decision trend reporting
• Conducting data analysis resulting in recommendations on thresholds and risk indicators
• Providing summary business level details on overall internal fraud risks
• You will be responsible for escalating identified risks which may result in unacceptable fraud controls and losses
• Providing support, including analysis, to various Strategic Fraud initiatives outlined by the business and Fraud Strategy leadership
• Supporting stakeholder requests for deep dive analysis for strategy optimization
What we're looking for:
• A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline like Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research etc. or work experience equivalent
• Analytical skills, technical skills in SAS/SQL with proven ability to process a large amount of data into meaningful information
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience in mining large amounts of distributed data
• Understanding of Data Science (Hadoop / Big Data / Machine Learning)
• Experience in developing and maintaining risk monitoring programs
• Excellent interpersonal skills
