Position Summary:

The Machine Shop Supervisor with CNC programming experience will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing operations.  This individual will oversee the day-to-day activities of our Machine Shop, ensuring efficient and accurate production while managing a team of machinists and CNC operators.  The ideal candidate will possess strong CNC programming skills and a solid understanding of Machine Shop operations.

Key Responsibilites:

Supervision:  Lead and manage a team of machinists and CNC operators, providing guidance, training and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.

CNC Programming:  Utilize CAD/CAM software to create and modify CNC programs for various machining centres.  Optimize programs for efficiency and quality.

Quality Assurance:  Implement and maintain strict quality control standards, ensuring that all produced parts meet or exceed specifications and quality requirements.

Machine Maintenance:  Co-ordinate and schedule regular maintenance and repair of CNC machines to minimize downtime and ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.

Production Scheduling:  Plan and oversee daily production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines.

Safety Compliance:  Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed by team members, including machine operators, to maintain a safe working environment.

Inventory Management:  Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and tooling to support uninterrupted production.

Cost Management:  Identify cost saving opportunities and efficient improvements within the Machine Shop operation.

Training and Development:  Provide training and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Qualifictions:

• Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience as a CNC programmer with expertise in CAD/CAM software (eg. SolidWorks, Mastercam).
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
• In-depth knowledge of machining processes and CNC equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the Crane or related industries.
