Cornish College is seeking to appoint a part time Maintenance and Property Assistant to work with our team on the continuous improvement of the property and grounds of our hundred acre classroom.
The Position
The position of Maintenance and Property Assistant reports to the Property Manager and will work in a team to maintain and improve the grounds and infrastructure at Cornish College. This position is part time, 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
As a member of the College staff the Property staff are committed to the aims and philosophy of the College.
The Property team is a small, dynamic group who work collaboratively in a busy environment that is changing as the College commits to sustainable growth and development.
Duty Statement
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Working with the Property team to maintain the College buildings and surrounds
- Assisting the Building Coordinator with small building projects and maintenance tasks.
- Responding in a timely manner to maintenance requests, prioritising requests relating to health and safety
- Assisting in the set-up of College functions in response to staff requests
- Assisting with physical duties that support the College’s teaching and business operations teams

The successful candidate will also ideally demonstrate the following attributes:

- Initiative and effective organisation skills
- Willingness to learn
- A positive mindset and work ethic
- A courteous manner towards all members of the Cornish College community
Qualifications and Experience
- Building/Trade qualifications, whilst not essential, would be an advantage
- Experience working in a similar environment, whilst not essential would be an advantage
- Current Working with Children Check for Employment purposes
- Current Police Check will be required on employment
