Maintenance Fitter Mechanical

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out autonomous maintenance and installation tasks on plant equipment within the organisation as required.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and follow up on outstanding work.
• Provide support to mechanical maintenance colleagues with lower skills in the organisation.
• Participate in Lean Six Sigma Kaizen events/ projects.
• Liaise with the Maintenance Manager on matters relating to the technical upgrading of production and ancillary equipment identifying opportunities for improvement. 
• Assist with safety audits along with demonstrating commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and safety.
• Keep the EAM maintenance work order system up to date and record all maintenance work in detail.
• Participate in waste management reduction programs.
• Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the machinery used in the manufacturing processes to enable them to troubleshoot and rectify the causes of manufacturing faults across all production areas.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe workplace in all areas work in following the return to production checklist.
• Monitor, source, and re-order spare parts as required.
• Ensure all repairs are completed promptly.
• Demonstrate the ability to organise a project from start to finish
• Be competent in the use of all workshop machinery/ equipment to fabricate parts for all requested SIG jobs/tasks.
• Read and fabricate complex parts from drawings, as well as competency to weld as required.
• Undergo any training as required due to changes of technology.
• Any other tasks as specified by the manager. 

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Mechanical Trades Certificate required.
• Proven mechanical and pneumatical skills.
• Must be able to read, fabricate, and assemble from an Engineering drawing with close tolerance components.
• Sound knowledge of the relevant Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.
• Experience with high volumes of production equipment.
• Competent in the use of lathes, mills, grinders, drills, and welding equipment as well as all workshop tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good communication, collaborative approach, open-minded, and with a focus on delivering solutions.
