Maintenance ManagerThis role is a rare and coveted opportunity to work with a World Class Beverage Manufacturer, boasting well maintained, state of the art equipment. A clearly defined career path exists through to either Plant Management or Group Engineering disciplines for the right candidate.
As Maintenance Manager, you’ll lead the people and operations of the Maintenance Department. Your responsibility includes managing the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, managing maintenance budget and resources, and assisting in the design and installation of new systems. You’ll demonstrate accountability for the efficient running of plant machinery, whilst promoting a supportive and collaborative high-performing team.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Leading the team in providing both a reactive and a proactive service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Implementing and managing continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
- Increasing the site operational effectiveness, improving on project delivery, decrease mean time between failure and downtime, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Undertaking total preventative maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Ensuring that designated buildings, plant, and facilities are fit for purpose, and managing the process of disposal of obsolete items.
- Undertake risk assessments of work required and provide relevant paperwork for any high risk or abnormal works.
- Schedule contractors for plant service and or repair works.
- Maintain all maintenance records.
- Assist with internal and external audits as and when required.
- Manage the department budget and provide commentary on spend for each month.
- Managing the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures.
- Coaching and mentoring the team, including training and development, goal setting, project delegation, performance improvement/management, and succession planning.
- Strong focus on GMP, HACCP, and food safety and quality compliance and requirements.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar position.
- Extensive experience in fast-paced high-volume production within a Food FMCG environment.
- Relevant manufacturing / engineering degree preferred and / or a trade qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Extensive experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC and have a restricted electrical licence.
- Drive engagement and culture through leadership, training and being an ongoing mentor.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- A hands-on approach, strong problem solving skills and the ability work autonomously.
