We currently have an opportunity for a self-motivated EU Works Manager (Facilities & Maintenance Manager) to join the team, located in Cairns QLD. You will support the Downer Defence Contract for delivery of Estate Maintenance and Operations Services (EMOS) contract to the Department of Defence QLD and SNSW region.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will in overseeing the operational implementation of Estate Upkeep maintenance services and oversee service delivery of tradespeople and subcontractors across the base services area sites.
What you'll do
The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below:
- Plan, schedule and deliver work for both Planned and Responsive Maintenance which includes; Unplanned, reactive and corrective maintenance; Predictive and Preventative Maintenance; and Minor Workplace Adjustments.
- Regularly supervise site facilities and assess maintenance requirements.
- Attend property inspections and identify defects and non-compliances with the lease/license agreement.
- Report maintenance requirements and seek to rectify as required and handle day-to-day general maintenance issues.
- Act as point of contact and coordinate during warranty works and defect liability periods.
- Be familiar with essential service requirements such as fire and security systems, emergency codes and emergency procedures, as well as, ensure these are maintained to industry standards.
What you'll bring
- Technical expertise and trade or tertiary training in either building maintenance, mechanical or electrical services.
- Sound knowledge of Facilities Management contract principals.
- Understanding of WHS and Industrial Relations law and regulations.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships.
- Knowledge of statutory obligations, Codes of practice and Building Code of Australia strong communication and negotiating skills.
- Suitability for Defence security clearance (Australian citizenship mandatory)
