Reporting to the Project Manager, the Maintenance Manager is accountable for the delivery of maintenance targets with zero harm to employees and contractors, including technical advice to the Project Manager and GM - Plant on means to optimise equipment availability and reliability on site.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Manage the performance and availability of defined fleets of equipment to achieve both operational and financial company objectives
- Ensure that works being performed are done so in a safe manner, and in line with company HSE standards
- Liaise with stakeholders, including regular communication, planning and scheduling discussions, to meet with stakeholders’ requirements; and
- Manage and lead a maintenance department to achieve goals and objectives.
- 3+ years as a Maintenance Superintendent or Manager role
- A strong commitment to safety leadership;
- Extensive knowledge and experience in mining or heavy earthmoving environments;
- Relevant nationally recognised trade qualification with significant experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu and Hitachi heavy earthmoving equipment;
- Experience in managing capital expenditure programs in relation to programming, cost control and allocation;
- Ability to deliver to deadlines and ensure operations are performed in accordance with company guidelines and cost targets;
- Demonstrate high-level communication and interpersonal skills including effective negotiation with clients on complex issues;
- Experience in a contract mining environment and proven customer focus;
- Strong analytical skills with solutions focus; and
- Sound reporting and commercial acumen.
