Maintenance Manager

Exciting opportunity to work as a Maintenance/Engineer Manager for a meat processing facility in Wangaratta.

Working for a world leading meat processing factory located in Wangaratta specialising in sausage casings and pharmaceuticals.

Your new role

You will have a strong background in maintenance management and engineering with a demonstrated ability to oversee and coordinate all aspects of maintenance operations.

Your responsibilities will include

• Manage and coordinate maintenance activities, including scheduling, planning, and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in optimal condition to minimise downtime and maximize productivity.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize equipment performance and reduce costs.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment failures and develop action plans to address issues proactively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting on expenses.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
• Manage external companies to ensure on time delivery and quality of execution.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the maintenance team.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management or engineering.
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of maintenance practices, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Strong attitude towards a sense of urgency and completion for identified tasks and opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively.
• Experience with budget management and cost control.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the food processing industry is highly desirable.
