The Role - Monday to Friday - 38 hours per week. Permanent full-time.
Reporting to the Area Maintenance Supervisor, an exciting opportunity has risen for a Maintenance Officer / Handy Man for our Daceyville facility. The successful candidate will ensure that all tasks are undertaken to support service delivery outcomes including the maintenance of the property and land-based assets, plant, and equipment.
Duties include but arent limited to:
- You will be responsible in providing basic general maintenance repairs (electrical & plumbing, carpentry and building)
- You will also be providing gardening maintenance tasks (sweeping, hosing, keeping the outside of buildings clean and tidy, mowing lawns, hedging and general garden maintenance)
- Will communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families, being empathetic and understanding of the needs of aged residents.

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:
- Trade qualification (desirable)
- Current driver's license
- Previous experience in either building, fitter and turner, welder or plumber (desirable)
- Experience as a Maintenance Person or Handy Man/Women in Aged Care or similar industry (desirable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication with interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of people
- Ability to work under minimum supervision and within a wider team of stakeholders
- Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a residential care setting
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationship with residents and/or families/representatives
- Availability to work a full time Monday to Friday - 38 hours per week.
