You will be joining an independent private school based out of the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney which has over 800 students ranging from pre-school to year 12. This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody with a maintenance background who is looking to work on a single site and looking for work-life balance, as this is something which the school actively promotes and understands the need to look after their staff. With a well established team, they are now looking to add more people to their staff and put a real emphasis on continuing to build on the work culture that they currently have in place.
You will be joining the facilities team as a Maintenance Officer and reporting to the Facilities Manager and working closely with a Maintenance Supervisor. In the team there is 4 other members of staff that you will be working closely with 4 other members of the facility team on a daily basis. You will be required to do a variety of maintenance and facilities tasks and your general responsibilities will be as follows :
- General maintenance and repairs, painting, patching, repairing locks, furniture repair, basic plumbing and other ad hoc tasks.
- Assist in event set-ups. This can range from small classroom events, to assemblies or large school functions.
- Coordination with subcontractors when required
- Periodic inspections of the site and grounds.
- Assisting with general tasks on occasion, such as delivering parcels across the campus.
- Use a reporting system for ticketed maintenance requests and liaise with the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Able to communicate well with internal staff and students.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience working in maintenance (Trade Qualifications highly regarded but not required)
- The ability to pass a police check and work with children's check
- The ability to work as part of a team and be a positive influence on the team.
- Flexible in tasks as there may be the requirement to cover other people's work when on leave.
