MAINTENANCE OFFICER-SECURITY AND GROUNDS

- Saturday and Sunday – 7.00 am to 9.00 am and 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm
- Worked on a 4-day rotating roster.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Maintenance Officer - Security and Grounds primary role is to ensure the secure lock up of the College on weekdays, opening the College on weekends and secure closure.
The role is also to maintain the College grounds, with a particular emphasis on effectively controlling litter and ensure the grounds are maintained to the highest standards. Assist with maintenance projects and set up of school events under the direction from the Facilities Manager, completing other duties as directed.
This position requires significant initiative and responsibility to tasks managing own outcomes whilst working with a Team.
All responsibilities of staff members are to be conducted in a manner consistent with the Mission Statement and values of St Michael’s College. Working with parents/guardians/caregivers building relationships of trust.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in a similar role
- Broad range of handyman skills
- Knowledge of workshop practices
- Strong knowledge of Safety, Risk and Compliance practices.
- Ability to design, construct and manage small projects
- Forklift license (desirable)
- Trade qualifications or equivalent (electrical, cabinet marking, carpenter, fitter, boiler maker or maintenance technician (desirable)
- IT skills familiar with a range of software packages (desirable)
- A pleasant “can do” attitude with the ability to use initiative
- Support for the Lasallian and Catholic Ethos of the College together with a willingness to work as part of a team.
